Chafford Hundred Teaching School Hub is an Appropriate Body for ECT Induction in the South Essex Region covering Basildon, Brentwood, Castle Point, Maldon, Rochford, Southend-on-Sea and Thurrock. We provide full support for ECTs, Mentors and schools as well as quality assurance of the ECT Induction programme.

All qualified teachers who are employed in a relevant school in England must, by law, have satisfactorily, completed an induction period, subject to specified exemptions and confirmed by an Appropriate Body.

The appointment of an Appropriate Body is a statutory requirement for the Early Career Teacher (ECT) induction period.  For more information see below.

If you would like to register your ECTs now for an Induction to start in September 2024, please register by 2nd September at the latest.  Induction date cannot be backdated if registered after this date.

Appropriate Body Fees

The Chafford Hundred Teaching School Hub offer the following five options for your Appropriate Body and ECF from September 2024 and the fees covers the two-year Induction period:

Use a lead provider (NIOT) & AB by Harris Teaching School Hubs - £550, reduced to £490 per ECT if schools register by 1st September and pay before 11th October for ECTs starting in the Autumn term Deliver your own training using DfE accredited materials & AB - £550 per ECT reduced to £500 if schools register by 1st September and pay before 11th October for ECTs starting in the Autumn term plus £1600 per school for fidelity checking for 2 years Design and deliver your own training led by schools & AB - £550 per ECT reduced to £500 if schools register by 1st September and pay before 11th October for ECTs starting in the Autumn term, plus £1600 per school for fidelity checking for 2 years AB ONLY - ECF Full Induction Programme delivered by another ECF Lead provider - £550, reduced to £490 per ECT if schools register by 1st September and pay before 11th October for ECTs starting in the Autumn term ECF ONLY - Full Induction Programme by Harris Teaching School Hubs without AB - £ Free for 2 years
