LUCY KELLAWAY ASKS… DO SCHOOLS NEED OLDER TEACHERS?

Wednesday 27th April 2022, 6-7pm

The average Now Teacher brings 27 years of workplace experience, so "Am I too old to train to teach?" is a question we hear all the time.

To that end, we have brought together Lucy Kellaway, Britain’s most famous career changer, with Dan Morrow, a former film producer who retrained as a teacher and became a head in his 30s. They will be chaired by Sian Griffiths, Education and Families Editor at the Sunday Times.

Together Dan, Sian and Lucy will explore the pros and cons of youth and experience in teaching.

Dan is CEO of Dartmoor Academy Trust and is passionate about educational equality, following his own experience of being a free school meals pupil and gaining a place at Oxford University.

Sian Griffiths is Education and Families Editor at the Sunday Times.

Lucy, ever young at heart, was a columnist at the Financial Times until she decided she wanted to do something useful and retrained to become an economics teacher at 57.

Reserve your place at next week's exclusive event - 6pm on Wed 27 April.
